Making Hot Air
During our first OEM – Off Highway hybridization project over 8 years ago, it became quickly apparent that our industry was seriously lacking key pieces of technology that would enable vehicle manufacturers to bring hybrid and/or electric solutions to the marketplace. This first project was the to take a snow-cat machine and convert it from diesel to hybrid-electric with a high efficiency Kubota gas engine. You can read about the project here.
What we learned from that project was that the building blocks for electrification in the medium- and heavy-duty off-highway industry just did not exist. So we set about developing those building blocks and one of them is a high voltage powered HVAC cab comfort system that can be scaled to fit various vehicle applications, industries, and markets.
